Don't Be Crazy!

As a mainly "ethical" vegan, I can be found trying to enlighten my sphere of influence to the cruelty that is going on in the world. Videos and pictures depicting the torture that animals face on a daily basis can be found on my Facebook and Instagram accounts. Alternative food choices flood my social media along with mouth watering pictures to help people realize that being vegan is not just about eating tofu every meal. I want people to realize that a vegan diet can be just as delicious as their animal filled dishes. I throw in a few facts about the amazing health benefits of eating plant-based for those who are mostly concerned with being healthy. I do all of this as a means to get the word out. I want people to start thinking about what they are eating and how it is affecting them, animals, and the environment. Now what I don't do is Go Crazy! Every single post on social media is not about cruelty to animals. I do not bombard my family, friends, and followers with gr

But What Can I Dunk My Oreo In?!

When I became Vegan I actually became Vegetarian. I didn't quit every animal product right away. I decided I would take out meat first and replace it with substitutes. I tried several brands before resting on Gardein as my favorite. Although I try to limit the use of substitutes now, I do enjoy most of their products and they are still my "go to" when I want something "meat-like". This way I was able to control the ingredients in my food and not have to ask a million questions to the server at a restaurant. I was still very hesitant to "cause problems" while I was ordering from a restaurant. I felt as thoug

Being Vegan In A Meat-Eater's World

Since this is my first post, I figured I would talk about why I named my blog "Being Vegan In A Meat-Eater's World". I have been vegan for a little over 2 years. Everyone asks me why I became vegan and the simple answer is, The Animals. Yes, I am on the side of vegans that "do it for the animals". It all started when someone innocently recommended a Netflix documentary to me. It didn't have anything to do with veganism but what it did have was suggestions of what else to watch when I was finished with that film. Well, this led me down a path of videos which contained all kinds of information about how animals were being treated in factories. I had no idea what was going on (And let me tell you, the companies don't want us to know. They actually spend BIG BUCKS making sure we never find out what really is going on behind those locked doors, security guards, and barbed wire fences.) After watching these films and being horrified by what I was seeing, I mad
